Bulky Lopi (Jöklalopi in Icelandic)
Bulky Lopi is ideal for one color garments, or simple color combos like stripes. Not for fairisle color work. This yarn is somewhat thicker than Alafoss Lopi, so Bulky Lopi knits up very quickly. For the best value in a bulky coat yarn, try Bulky Lopi!
For warmer winter garments that breathe, Lopi is the yarn. Clothes knitted from Lopi are cozy and lightweight. Icelandic sheep fleece is double layered, and in the same way that the sheep are kept warm and dry, the wearers of Lopi can expect the same results. Click here for Lopi knitting patterns.

I was having trouble finding this yarn in all the colors i needed until I came across Handknitting. I received my order in just a few days and when I contacted Laurel about a discrepancy she was quick to reply and to make it right. I would definitely order from Handknitting again.

Friendly service and unique selection
I looked all over for a particular yarn that my local shop had run out of and found that not only did Handknitting have it, but it was really decently priced for it as well. :-)

Wonderful winter weight
We live in Northern New Hampshire in he heart of the White Mountains. Sweaters knit with bulky weight along with a good down vest is what we wear on a cold winters day. The bulky lopi is super warm and the lanolin in the yarn is natural wicking.

Great service
So happy to have found this discontinued yarn! Still working on an Alafoss Lopi sweater but will break this Bulkylopi out ASAP! The colors are beautiful. The service was fast and friendly. It was a pleasant purchase experience...she went an extra mile on this. Lopi is lightly spun Icelandic wool. It makes heirloom quality sweaters that are warm, windproof and light, surprising for a bulky wool. It seems scratchy to me until treated with some type of conditioner. I usually wear a turtleneck underneath a Lopi sweater. It also make fabulous throws, mittens, etc.
