Fair Isle Socks
in two colors or more
by Beth Brown-Reinsel
These socks are knitted in the round in two or more colors. As is the tradition, Fair Isle garments are never worked with more than two colors in a round and these socks are no exception. The main patterning of the socks is comprised of three-row peerie patterns, the traditional Scottish Fair Isle motifs.
Sized for children, Women's S & M, Men's M & L. You can use any sock yarn, or for a heavier sock use Guernsey or sport weight yarn.
Beth Brown-Reinsel is an expert on Scandanavian and other traditional knitting techniques. All of her patterns include not only clear instructions but also charts, schematics, glossary and bibliography. Every pattern also contains mini technique lessons.
