Perla is a silk fringe yarn -- pure luxury! The soft silk cord has tiny silk fringe attached that gives the finished fabric a lush, textured look, complete with the shiny luster of the finest silk. The fabric is plush, like chenille, but this yarn will not bias or worm. It caresses the skin, and delights the eye. This yarn is so different from most, it's really difficult to describe, but it is truly wonderful to wear. Many beautiful patterns for this yarn in the Fatto a Mano winter books. DK weight.
Like other highly textured yarns, Perla is best suited for simple garments without fancy stitch patterning, like a plain crew neck pullover or tee shirt. Makes a wonderful cloche hat, or a fancy scarf with a simple lace pattern using larger needles. Also very effective in different colored stripes, as the halo obscures the boundaries.
