Here's a clasp more reminiscent of the concha designs from old Mexico. An oval shape is inscribed with a blazing star. The design is antiqued to bring out the contrast. The two pieces close by a hook-and-eye mechanism, and when closed measures about 2 1/2 inches wide. These clasps are made with a heavier grade of metal and will not become misshapen with use. Clasps used to be common for knitwear, and provide an attractive, jewelry-like closure.
