Paca Parka
This is the perfect piece for those chilly winter days and nights. The parka is lined with a hand-knitted fabric, but you may use a woven fabric to avoid knitting the lining. Then, between the lining and the outside hand-knitted checkered fabric, insulating fabric is placed in and then the three fabrics are sewn with a sewing machine to create a quilting effect. Simply superb.
Three sizes with finished bust size of 42", 46", and 50." Gauge 24 sts and 28 rows = 4" in stockinette stitch. Needle size US 7 (4.5 mm).
Yarn Helen Hamann LUXURY, 100% Superfine Alpaca, 50 g skeins, 184 yds/168 m, Sports weight #2. Twenty skeins MC and 4 skeins each of 4 colors -- 36 skeins -- 6,624 yards (6,057 meters) in two strands of yarn held together throughout. Sample has been worked in colors 4718 chestnut, 6414 raspberry truffle, 4932 berry wine (MC), 2250 pumpkin, 0178 chili pepper.
