You simply won't believe this super-soft, super-fine, super-luxurious, super-light alpaca yarn from Lang. This yarn has a light halo, yet is less transparent than most brushed yarns. No tickle or scratch like mohair, none of the itchiness you might expect with a feathery yarn.
This yarn really is super light--a dress takes only 175 grams in size small, and a medium long sleeve sweater is about 200 grams. That coat will float down the street with you--it's like wearing a warm alpaca cloud!
Perfect for lace scarves, shawls and stoles, but great for lighter-than-air sweaters too.
- 54% Superfine Alpaca, 22% Fine Merino, 24% Nylon

I bought some "discontinued" yarn on a trip to France - a one-time trip. One of the balls was apparently short, because I ran out (short-weight) just before the end of my shawl! with little hope, I googled for it and found it here, although I wasn't sure of the color. Laurel helped me determine which one I needed and I got it very quickly. It was a perfect match and my souvenir shawl is complete. Yarn great, packaging not so great.
My yarn came quickly which was wonderful. My only problem was in cutting open the packaging, I cut carefully in the area of the flap that was the seal. I found out too late that the yarn had moved into the area and the scissors cut through one of the skeins. I believe if the yarn was secured by wrapping in tissue paper or placing in a plastic bag, the yarn would not have been able to shift and the accidental cutting wouldn’t have happened. It was very sad to have to throw out the cut pieces.

I don’t yet know how this will knit up. On initial touch, feels slightly scratchy, but that may go away upon knitting. This is one of the few knitting stores that carry this and I need it to knit something from Pom Pom magazine. Am very grateful that they carry it and they have excellent customer service! Thank you!
